Laura is a Research Associate at the Centre for Research in Social Policy (CRSP) at Loughborough University where she works on the Minimum Income Standards programme, focusing on quantitative analysis of risk and income adequacy. She has been involved in the fieldwork for the MIS project in the UK and has led the fieldwork of a pilot study of the MIS project in Mexico. She also produces the local indicators of childhood poverty for the End Child Poverty campaign.
Her degrees are: BA in International Relations (Monterrey Tech, Mexico, 2004); MA Public Administration and Public Policy (Monterrey Tech, Mexico, 2005); MSc Public Policy in Latin America (Oxford, 2006); and PhD in Social Policy (Oxford, 2012). Before joining CRSP, she worked as a researcher at the University of Lisbon. Outside of CRSP, she has been an online tutor on childhood policies for the Inter-American Development Bank.
